Kevin Costner and Clint Eastwood dream co-star

" Dances with Wolves " (1990) and " Unforgiven " (1992). These two films have something in common: they were produced at a time when the western genre was obsolete, and both won the Academy Award for Best Picture. What's more, it is similar in that it was directed by an actor, and that actor also plays the lead role. The outlines of the works are similar.

Another thing they have in common is that they both starred in a 1990s film based on the assassination of President Kennedy. Kevin Costner, who directed and starred in ``Dances with Wolves'', directed and starred in `` JFK '' (1991), which depicts the investigation of an Unforgiven; They each play the main characters in ` `In the Line of Fire '' (1993), which depicts a man who fails to protect the president during an incident.

“A Perfect World” trailer

At the time of its release, the two, who were on the rise in their acting careers, co-starred for the first time in the movie ``A Perfect World'' (1993). Coincidentally, the setting was Texas in 1963, the year President Kennedy was assassinated. The year 1993, when this movie was released, was also a milestone year, marking 30 years since the incident. In the movie, there is an explanation about the mobile trailer used in the investigation, saying, ``This one will also be participating in President Kennedy's Dallas parade.'' Also, at the beginning of the movie, it is shown that the story is set on Halloween. In other words, we can see that the story begins on October 31st. John F. Kennedy was shot on November 22nd, so ``A Perfect World'' is set in Texas, just before his assassination.

Clint Eastwood became a star in the 1960s, and Kevin Costner became a star in the 1980s. The fact that the two, who had something in common by chance, co-starred in ``A Perfect World'' was even touted in the flyer at the time of its release as ``a Hollywood dream come true.'' And many movie fans dreamed of a teacher-student relationship between the two. However, Eastwood and Costner's filmography did not intersect after that (as of 2021).
