"The Hurt Locker" trailer
``The Hurt Locker'' is based on Ball's experience reporting on the actual situation in Iraq, spending several weeks in a US Army bomb squad and working with US soldiers working in Iraq. Although the characters and story of ``The Hurt Locker'' are fictional, the terrifying reality of Ball's experiences in the dangerous area of Baghdad is clearly depicted in the film. The reality of the depiction is so complete that it could be mistaken for a non-fiction documentary.
This film also depicts one of the costs of war in the 21st century: dependence. ``The Hurt Locker'' is a story of a war addict that vividly depicts a quiet man who is addicted to the horrors of war. Ball says, ``My experience in Iraq left a deep impression on me. When I came back, I thought, ``No one really knows what those soldiers were like and what they were facing.''
