Nora Ephron's script that could not be made into a movie

Having discovered the joy of seeing a script change through filming, it was inevitable that Nora Ephron would eventually move into directing. Following the success of ``When Harry Met Sally...'', she made her directorial debut with ``This is My Life'' (1992), a comedy based on her own family, starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. He went on to create many classic romantic comedy films that symbolized the era, including ``When I Sleepless in Seattle'' (1993), `` You've Got Mail '' (1998), and ``Bewitched'' (2005) starring Nicole Kidman. Although her last work, `` Julie & Julia '' (2009), cannot be called a romantic comedy, it is a masterpiece that warmly depicts the lives of two women from different generations, mixed with humor.

However, she herself has revealed that she was planning to work on not only romantic comedies but also so-called social films. Two of the books are biographies based on real The Journalist. One is a biographical film about Mike McAlary , The Journalist who was active in the 1980s and 1990s and exposed lynchings by the New York City Police Department. This was never made into a film, but after Efron's death, it was staged on Broadway under the title ``Lucky Guy,'' starring his close friend Tom Hanks. Another project she was writing was a biopic about Marguerite Higgins, a Pulitzer Prize-winning war correspondent who covered the Korean War. Efron co-wrote the screenplay with Alice Arlen, as he did for Silkwood. Many attempts have been made to make it into a movie, but each time it ends in failure.

Efron said in a 2007 interview that not being able to turn Higgins' story into a film was the most painful experience of his screenwriting career. Born in 1920, Higgins participated in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War as an American war correspondent. She was a person who greatly advanced the status of female war correspondents by going to the front lines, which was thought to be impossible for women. How did Efron, who began her career as a journalist and worked as a female screenwriter and director in a film industry dominated by men, portray the life of Marguerite Higgins? I think I definitely wanted to see it.
