“In the Line of Fire” The battle between those who believe in the state and those who don’t believe in it *Note! Contains spoilers.

Eastwood always placed himself in the center of power.
In In the Line of Fire, Eastwood's Frank Horrigan is just Eastwood. It's so Eastwood that it seems like he's directly tracing the characters that Eastwood has played in the past. A lone wolf who trusts his instincts more than data and uses his rough actions and words to influence those around him. Isn't the part where he wins a woman's heart by playing a jazz number on the piano something he does in real life? The more I wonder.
Also, the fact that he belongs to a national agency called the Secret Service is very Eastwood-esque. Let's list the roles Eastwood played in movies up until 1993, when this movie was released, focusing on modern dramas (excluding westerns, etc.).
" Manhattan Mujuku " (68) Detective
“ Play Misty for Me ” (71) DJ
" Dirty Harry " (71) Detective
" Thunderbolts " (74) Ex-criminal pastor
" The Eiger Sanction " (75) Spy
" Gauntlet " (77) Detective
" Dirty Fighter " (78) Long-distance truck driver
" Escape from Alcatraz " (79) Prisoner
" Bronco Billy " (80) Chairman of a traveling comedian troupe
" Firefox " (80) Former US Air Force pilot
" Honkytonk Man " (82) Country singer
" Rope " (84) Detective
" City Heat " (84) Detective
" Heartbreak Ridge " (86) Marine Sgt.
" Pink Cadillac " (89) Bounty Hunter
" White Hunter Black Heart " (90) Film Director
" Rookie " (90) Detective
" Perfect World " (93) Detective (Police Chief)
As expected, Eastwood has a very high criminal rate. If you include spies and air force pilots, more than half belong to national organizations. He has always placed himself in the center of power and faced threats to America. However, in response to Frank, played by Eastwood, Mitch declares, ``We are very similar to each other...He is honest and capable, but he was betrayed by those he trusted.''
Mitch, the man who believes in the state, and Frank, the man who disbelieves in the state.
