The movie is based on Akira Suei's autobiographical essay book of the same name.

The process by which young Suei, who himself says was from a ``remote area'', had no money or connections, and whose academic background was unreliable, effortlessly climbed the ladder of self-actualization among famous warriors, is as follows. It's quite a thrill to watch the movie (of course, this is due to Suei's genius). This work carefully recreates the mood and customs of his youth in a chronicle style. Therefore, many people are calling it a Japanese version of the masterpiece `` Boogie Nights '' (1997, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson), which was set in the American porn industry from the late 1970s to the 1980s, at a similar time. It makes sense that there are. You could also add `` Larry Flynt '' (1996, directed by Milos Forman), which depicts the founder of the pornographic magazine ``The Hustler'' to the list of similar works.

This film is directly based on an essay book of the same name that Suei published in 1982 when he was 34 years old. This masterpiece, ``A Dynamite Graffiti,'' which begins with the provocative and humorous chapter title ``My Mother is Explosive,'' was Suei's first book and was published by Kita-Songsha at the time. It eventually became Kadokawa Bunko, and is currently published by Chikuma Bunko.

However, director Tominaga seems to have researched not only this book but also Suei's life and surrounding circumstances from various angles before constructing this movie. Looking at the end credits of the movie, the first reference listed is Suei's 2013 book Suicide (Asahi Publishing).
