`` Tron : TRON: Legacy '' (11), which was planned as a direct sequel to the previous work ``Tron'' (1982) (currently referred to as `` Tron : Original''), is based on `` Top Gun: Maverick '' (22). This is director Joseph Kosinski's debut film, which was a huge hit. He has a unique background, having studied mechanical engineering and architecture at university, and his strong sense of design and challenging attitude towards new technology have been evident since his first film as a director. In this first part, we will discuss the de-aging technology that rejuvenated Jeff Bridges, who plays the lead role in the film, and the possibilities of digital processing technology for actors that developed from there.

Synopsis ①

In Tron: The Original , Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) is taken into a computer by a material conversion device, defeats the MCP (Master Control Program) (*1) that controls the world, and returns to reality. I was able to return to the world.

After that, Kevin became the CEO of Encom, the largest corporation in the United States, and while moving back and forth between the real world and the cyber world, he was working on a plan to create an ideal world called "Grid" within the system. Kevin developed Tron and his alter ego Crew (*2) as personal programs to assist him in his work, allowing him to continue his work even while returning to the real world.

Then, in 1989, seven years after the previous film, Kevin suddenly disappears, leaving only his 7-year-old son Sam (Owen Best) behind. In 2009, Sam (Garrett Hedlund) had grown up to be 27 years old, but he never wanted to get involved in the management of Encom, unable to shake the sadness and distrust of having been abandoned by his father. The new CEO was running a dirty business, repeatedly updating the OS with little change, even though he was touting ``improved security.'' Sam can't stand it, so he sneaks into Encom's server room and releases the new OS for free on the internet.
