Danny Boyle never forgets his offensive stance

Director Danny Boyle created a sensation in the 1990s with Trainspotting (1996), which could be called a social phenomenon. However, it can be said that the 10 years that followed, from `` Not Ordinary '' (1997) to `` Sunshine 2057 '' (2007), were a series of hardships.

However, the reason his life seems so energetic is because he never gets defensive even during these downturns. Perhaps that aggressive attitude has finally paid off, with the groundbreaking film ``Slumdog Millionaire'' (2008), which he unexpectedly went to India to shoot, separating from producer Andrew Macdonald, with whom he had been collaborating. Boyle would go on to win eight Oscars, including the Academy Award for Best Picture. It was truly a huge burst of rejuvenation. Regarding this work, he himself said, ``It felt like a new start for my career'' (*).

“Slumdog Millionaire” preview

The project originally began when the producer, who had acquired the film rights to the original work, asked Simon Beaufoy, known as Britain's greatest writer, to write the script. Speaking of Beaufoy, he is the creator (screenwriter) of `` The Full Monty '' (1997). According to one theory, Boyle, who was a big fan of this movie, expressed interest in ``Slumdog'' because Beaufoy wrote the script, and after reading the script, he decided that he wanted to do it. In this way, a dream collaboration between two people who made their name during the golden age of British cinema in the 1990s was realized.
