“Blade Runner” and “Summer of (500) Days” share the same filming locations.

There are other filming locations in ``(500) Days of Summer'' that you wouldn't expect to find in LA. At the end of the film, Tom visits the Bradbury Building, also located downtown, for a job interview. It was built in 1893 and is an American National Historic Landmark, so its classic Victorian interior is impressive. It's like taking a trip to Europe. At one time, it was in ruins, but it has been restored and transformed into a deserted landscape of the near future, where Sebastian, who suffers from premature aging, lives in the apartment in Blade Runner . This building also appears in films such as `` The Artist, '' which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Incidentally, in Blade Runner, Union Station, a train The Terminal station also located downtown, is turned into a futuristic police station, and although it is not located downtown, the main character Deckard's home is a house built by Frank Lloyd Wright. There are many unique filming locations in LA, such as the Wright Architectural House in `` Black Rain '', where it was also used as the residence of Sugai, played by Tomisaburo Wakayama.

Returning to ``(500) Days of Summer'', the movie theater that appears three times in the movie is the ``Million Dollar Theater'', including when Tom and Summer watch the masterpiece ``The The Graduate ''. It is one of the oldest movie theaters in America (currently closed), and it is easy to see that downtown LA is full of historic buildings. Wim Wenders' ` `Million Dollar Hotel '' is also set in a downtown hotel of the same name. The photo was taken in the actual building where the hotel was located. Downtown may have the effect of drawing you into a slightly fantastical world while depicting the daily lives of people who are not typical of LA.
