Director John Carpenter's mysterious tweet
In January 2017, film director John Carpenter suddenly posted the following comment on Twitter.
- ``They Live'' is about yuppies and endless capitalism. This is not a story about Jews conquering the world.
Why did Carpenter post such a comment? According to an article by Brian Raftery in WIRED, it was an expression of displeasure with neo-Nazis. In recent years, images and images of "They Live" have been appropriated by neo-Nazis on the internet and Arrival have been spread. There are even conspiracy theorists and racists who interpret the aliens depicted in ``They Live'' as ``a metaphor for the Jews who control the world from the shadows.''
``They Live'' is a story about Neida, a worker who acquires sunglasses that allow her to spot Alien that have mingled with humanity, and throws herself into the fight against Alien. Alien reign as the ruling class and skillfully brainwash humanity. By infiltrating TV, magazines, and billboards with Arrival such as "obey," "sleep," and "buy things," they are emasculating and enslaving Earthlings without us even realizing it.
