The relationship with the masterpieces that appear in glimpses that make you want to read deeply
There are masterpieces that make you want to stack them on top of each other because of the splendor of these "arcs." The year 1962 was the backdrop for Green Book. `` Lawrence of Arabia '' was released in the same year. A movie theater briefly appears in a scene from ``Green Book,'' but when you look closely at its exterior, you can see that the film being shown is ``Lawrence of Arabia.'' This may be inevitable since it is a masterpiece that represents that year.
However, if you read deeper, you will discover some strong connections between ``Green Book'' and ``Lawrence of Arabia.'' TE Lawrence, the main character of ``Lawrence of Arabia,'' was an officer who led the British army in the Middle East during World War I. The key point in the play is the emotional exchange between Lawrence, an Englishman, and Ali, the chief of the Harit tribe, two men with very different cultures and values. Although the situation is different, there are similar depictions in Green Book, such as the scene in which Lawrence stares at the horizon and waits for ants to arrive. There are also several other commonalities that can be found through ``deep reading.'' It's discoverable.
Although ``Lawrence of Arabia'' depicts an overly dramatic arc and gives the impression of a grand romance, it is actually a modest story about one man, and the surprisingly smooth ending of the film symbolizes this. The same goes for Green Book, which gives you a similar feeling.
This relationship with ``Lawrence'' is probably not what director Peter Farrelly intended. But isn't reading this kind of in-depth information the fun of being a movie lover? Just as ``Lawrence of Arabia'' accomplished the feat of winning seven awards, including Best Picture, at the 35th Academy Awards, ``Green Book'' also won Best Picture at the 91st Academy Awards. A similar ``arc'' was followed in the evaluation of works.
