``Erase the memory of your lover'' The novelty is directly connected to the fun

What was “new” about “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”? This is, after all, the act of ``erasing the memory of your lover'' as mentioned earlier.

The setting of memories being erased is similar to romantic movies such as ``The Eraser in My Head '' (2004) and `` 50 First Kisses '' (2004), as well as ` `Total Recall '' (1990) and `` Memento. '' A popular theme used in suspense stories such as (00). However, these are all passive factors such as constitution and conspiracy. For many people, many people had never heard of an active work that ``voluntarily erases memories,'' and it was very innovative.

Nowadays, with the spread of PCs and smartphones, ``digitizing memories'' has become commonplace, and people are becoming more familiar with the act of ``erasing'' them. We live in an era where real people, not robots or androids, are swapping and removing personalities on a daily basis. However, in the world 15 years ago when ``monoism'' was still strong, it can be said that the soil in which this idea was born was not yet nurturing.

What was effective in conjunction with this part was the image of an active heroine. In recent years, major works such as Disney's live-action versions of " Beauty and the Beast " (2017) and " Aladdin " (2019) have consciously depicted "independent women," but in 2004, they were portrayed as "fighting heroines." Despite the portrayal of women, I feel that there were few female characters in Hollywood who took the initiative to end a romance. To begin with, the love story in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" begins with the woman calling out to the man, and the woman is in control of everything. This is also an unusual pattern.

Clementine, the heroine of this work, has a free-spirited personality, and her hair color changes frequently and her words and actions are completely free. Kate Winslet, who embodied pure love in `` Titanic '' (1997), plays this role, so her destructive power is outstanding. There is a clear intention in the cast as well.

The setting, characters, and visuals also became a hot topic. Due to memory erasure, her lover disappears from her memories, and when she wakes up in bed, she is surrounded by a cold seaside, and when the scene jumps, it is raining in her room. The main character shrinks or becomes a child on the inside, the car he was supposed to be driving disappears, and when he enters a room it becomes pitch black, and he has no idea what will happen. The ``memory erasure'' phenomenon, which is difficult to imagine clearly, was beautifully visualized, and the audience was captivated by the many performances they saw for the first time.

In this way, the more you look at it in detail, the more you realize that the ``newness'' of ``Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'' is directly connected to the ``interestingness'' of ``Eternal Sunshine''. It's a work with no gaps.

In the next section, I will change the theme and talk about the ``emotions'' that dwell in stories. I'm getting excited as I write this, so please bear with me.
