“Those days” when Matsuzaka and Nakano were deeply addicted to acting

Q: Mr. Matsuzaka and Mr. Nakano started their entertainment activities relatively close to each other, so I think they have seen the same scenery, but how do you both feel that they have changed since ``that time''?

Nakano: I've been curious about him for a long time, but the first time I met him was in `` Antokinoinochi '' (11). Have you had any major changes in your mindset in the years since then? I was watching Tori from the side and felt that the atmosphere had changed.

Matsuzaka: At that time, I was still enrolled in university and was active while taking a leave of absence. I still had the option of going back to university, but when I started working on ``Antokinoinochi'' and other works, I started to think, ``Video work is interesting.''

Nakano: I see, so that's what it meant.

Matsuzaka: Meeting director Takahisa Zeze while working on Antokinoinochi was also a big deal. It was my first time playing the role of the bad guy, and I had no confidence, experience, or anything to draw on, and Director Zeze forced me to act, and I didn't understand why, but when I saw the finished product, I was like, ``That's when Director Zeze told me.'' I thought, ``This is what was going on!''

At that moment, I felt like I experienced ``seeing and knowing,'' or rather, I was prepared for how to approach the work. Plus, it's cumulative. I worked with Kirin Kiki in `` Tsunagu '' (12), and with Koji Yakusho in `` Korou no Chi '' (18)... I feel like the way I approach my work has become more ``colorful'' through the accumulation of encounters.

Q: What do you think of Mr. Nakano?

Nakano: Personally, I started out with a strong admiration and desire to do it, so I feel like my motivation hasn't changed since I was around middle school and I've come this far.

However, looking back now, I was shocked when I met Masato Hagiwara in `` Battery '' (2007) starring Kento Hayashi. It was almost like a debut work, but when I met him face to face, I felt, ``This is what people say about people who are good at acting.''

Q: Mr. Hagiwara played the role of the manager of the baseball club to which the young baseball boys played by Mr. Nakano and Mr. Hayashi belong.

Nakano: Yes. Up until then, I had just been acting casually with kids my own age, but when I saw professional actors like Hagiwara-san, Amami Yuki-san, and Sugawara Bunta-san, I was really shocked. As I imitated it in my own way, I was thinking, ``I wonder if this is what acting is all about...''

Matsuzaka: That's right. interesting.
