After all, a Monster gentleman penguin

When you think of Tim Burton's Christmas movies, you may think of the stop-motion animated film `` The Nightmare Before Christmas '' or Johnny Depp's breakthrough film `` Edward Scissorhands ,'' but you can't forget ``Batman Returns.'' . It is a tentative sequel to Burton's major debut work `` Batman, '' and is a rare second Burton film. Instead of the previous work's beautiful visualization of the characters of Batman and his nemesis Joker, this time he draws the characters in his own colors, exploding his eccentric taste.

Above all, the character of the villain Penguin Man is wonderful. The story begins with a baby being born in a famous family's mansion, and the father, played by Paul Reubens (aka " Pee-wee Herman "), enters the room to replace the doctor who is running away and screams. The baby is born ugly and violent, and is thrown into the sewers on Christmas. The sewer system leads to the pool of a closed zoo, and the penguins who were left behind find a baby... It's a great opening.

Penguin Man, who grew up without knowing love and grew into a monster filled with hatred, is played by Danny DeVito, wearing heavy make-up. Its beak-like pointy nose, round body, and webbed hands give it a strong impression. Add a top hat, a bat umbrella, and a monocle, and you have a Monster gentleman penguin. The characteristics of the penguin man, familiar from the original comics and the old TV series, are exaggerated to the fullest in Burton's style, and a circus gang goes on a rampage during Christmas, while real penguins carrying toy-like missiles totter on their backs. The visuals are fun, like a creepy amusement park, and full of the charm of Burton's work, with a cuteness lurking within the dark and frightening.
