A severed ear and a real-life ear cutting incident

A human ear found by a young man, Jeffrey, in the bushes. As mentioned above, the darkness inside the ear canal may be the dark side of one's own heart, or a mysterious dark side, but why are there "ears" in the first place? `` Lost Highway '' is said to be based on a real-life murder case called the ``O.J. .

The story is about the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III (hereinafter referred to as Getty III), which was famously made into a movie by director Ridley Scott as The All the Money in the World (17). Getty III, the grandson of Jean Paul Getty (hereinafter "Old Man Getty"), the world's richest man and also known as a rare miser, was kidnapped in Piazza Farnese in Rome. That was in 1973. The kidnapping group demanded a ransom of $17 million (approximately 5 billion yen at the time).

Various figures have been recorded regarding Jean Paul Getty's assets, and although he himself did not know the exact amount, paying the ransom was easy for the old man.

However, it is. Old man Getty refused to pay the ransom. Its amazing behavior shocked the whole world, and the news was widely reported all over the world, including here in Japan. Frustrated, the kidnapper cut off one of Getty III's ears and mailed it to his family. The ransom was eventually paid and the kidnapped King Getty III was released alive.

It is likely that Lynch used this incident as the basis for ``Blue Velvet.'' This work and the kidnapping incident are very similar in every way, not just the one severed ear. (He also appeared in ``Lost Highway.'')
