Influence of Asian films

This is Antoine Fuqua's third film to be directed, following `` The Replacement Killer'' (1998) starring Chow Yun-fat and `` Wild Chase '' (2000) starring Jamie Foxx. Fuqua, who admired Akira Kurosawa, progressed from being an engineer to becoming a film director, and had worked on music videos for Prince, Stevie Wonder, and, in rare cases, Seiko Matsuda, and was still in his infancy as a full-length film director. However, because he was such a young director, veteran Denzel Washington was able to freely improvise and create the character of Alonzo.

In this way, a new great duo of Denzel Washington and Antoine Fuqua was born, and they went on to star in `` The Equalizer '' (2014), the sequel `` The Equalizer 2 '' (18), and `` The Magnificent Seven '' (16). There will be a total of four works.

In addition, John Woo was the executive producer of ``The Replacement Killer,'' and Fuqua was influenced by Hong Kong noir. The visual beauty of Fuqua, which was influenced by this, and the dark side of Los Angeles overlap beautifully in this film. You'll discover that Los Angeles is more than just the bright sun and towering palm trees.
