1964, The Beatles' brilliant youth film
The Beatles movie that always makes you want to go back and rewatch is ``A Hard Day's Night'' (Japanese title at the time of release was ``The Beatles Are Coming! Yaa! Yaa! Yaa!''). This was their film debut, made in 1964. A “modest piece” of 87 minutes in black and white. There's no big gimmick, just the four leads running around and singing. Still, my heart flutters every time I see it. More than 55 years have passed since the photo was taken, but it is still filled with dazzling light. What is engraved on it is the carefree and innocent appearance of the four people. The time capsule of a movie is engraved with images of eternal, shining youth, and each time I watch it, I feel happy.
In 1964, when this film was made, the Beatles visited America for the first time and were a great success. The impetus for this was his appearance on America's national music program `` The Ed Sullivan Show '' in February. The group's first appearance, broadcast on the 9th, had an astounding audience rating of 72%, with 73 million people reportedly glued to their performance.

Also, in April, Beatles songs occupied all of the Billboard charts from No. 1 to No. 5, creating a Beatles whirlwind that truly swept across America. The previous year, in November 1963, America experienced the shocking assassination of Kennedy. It is said that the gloomy mood was blown away by four bright young people from England. Until then, it had been said that it was difficult for British musicians to succeed in America, but the Beatles were the first example of success.
And his memorable debut film was born in a year of monumental success in the United States. The brilliance of the four people who appear in the movie is not fictitious, but the brilliance of the people who achieved great success at the time. John, Paul, George, and Ringo were surrounded by a great light.
