A movie that takes advantage of Schwarzenegger's "taste of the material"

The production team reportedly put a lot of effort into how to entertain the audience with the material "Schwarzenegger." Director Mark L. Lester said:

``Arnold expressed his emotions for the first time in this movie. In ``Conan the Great'' (1982) and ``The Terminator'' (1984), his own personality was not revealed. I encouraged him to create something. He's usually a very fun and likable person, and I thought it would be great if he could bring out his natural personality."

Up until that point, Schwarzenegger had only played gorilla-like swordsmen who indulged in violence in another world, and emotionless killing machines from the future. This has a lot to do with his history.

“Conan the Great” preview

Schwarzenegger was an immigrant from Austria to America at the age of 20, and could only speak English with a strong accent. However, his impressive body, which had won the world bodybuilding championship many times, looked great on screen. To make the most of his talent, he was given a role with few lines and no need to express complex emotions, yet who commits violence beyond the understanding of ordinary people.

However, in ``Commando,'' he tried to turn that around and take on the advanced techniques of a Japanese chef, making the most of Schwarzenegger's ``umami as an ingredient.'' This gave the work ``Commando'' a unique ``texture'' and ``taste.''
