Established a position as "compulsory education" for movie fans

Basically, with movies, there is an opportunity to learn about the work. Watching trailers, seeing posters and flyers, finding out about them at rental stores and distribution services...In recent years, our first Contact with a work has become more diverse than ever.

However, among these films, there are films whose ``fame'' has been passed down from generation to generation before the content, as if to say that they are compulsory education for all of humanity. `` Star Wars '' (1977), `` Jaws '' (75), ` `Back to the Future' ' (85)... and yes, ``The Terminator'' (1984) are at the top of the list, of course. Everyone who was born after 1984, when this film was released into the world, has probably grown up surrounded by the passionate sighs of fans who were inspired by this film before they even saw the main story.

``Legend,'' ``Monumental,'' ``Original,'' ``Changing an era.'' ``The Terminator'' has been introduced with an exaggerated crown befitting a king. And he has accepted all of them and continues to reign at the top even after 35 years. `` Terminator 2: Judgment Day '' (1991), which is hailed as a ``masterpiece'', would not have been created if this work had not been a hit.

"The Terminator" trailer

What can we say about ``The Terminator'' now? Innovative video technology, Arnold Schwarzenegger's enthusiasm, behind-the-scenes stories... these have already become common knowledge for many movie fans. Profiles of director James Cameron and Schwarzenegger require no explanation.

However, now that the ``legitimate'' sequel to ``Terminator 2: Judgment Day'', `` Terminator: Dark Fate '' (2019), is about to be released, there is one point that I would like to reconsider. The question is, "Why doesn't The Terminator ever get old?"

I'm sure that the generation born after `` The Avengers '' (2012) and `` Joker '' (2019) will be impressed by ``The Terminator,'' and it will become engraved in their blood as a must-see movie. It's like compulsory education. What is the reason? Is it the visual aspect?

Certainly, the impact this film had on audiences at the time must have been huge. However, that alone will not allow the story to be passed down from generation to generation.

“Terminator: Dark Fate” preview

`` Gemini Man '' (2019) succeeds in the bizarre plan of pitting Will Smith's youth against the present, and `` The Irishman '' (19) rejuvenates Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. As mentioned above, the evolution of video technology knows no bounds. Under such circumstances, the technology of 35 years ago cannot be said to be new to today's young people. Despite this, ``The Terminator'' continues to gain new fans over the years. From this, we can see that what fascinates people is something more fundamental.

Why has this movie remained a model of entertainment for so long? In this article, I would like to analyze the reasons why ``The Terminator'' is a timeless masterpiece.
