How did the golden team of Scorsese, De Niro and Joe Pesci take the first step in ' Raging Bull'?

De Niro and Pesci's first work together
``The Irishman'' is famous for the fact that Scorsese and De Niro met with Joe Pesci many times to persuade him to come back after he had been away from acting for a long time.
Almost 40 years ago, when they first teamed up for ``Raging Bull,'' casting Pesci was a huge challenge.
De Niro was the first to spot Pesci's talent. It all started when he happened to watch a video of his film ``The Debt Collector'' and was captivated by his acting, telling Scorsese, ``This guy is hilarious!''
However, at that time, Pesci was thinking of quitting acting. He had been performing on stage since he was a child, and it seems that he was already tired of being an actor. It's not that I don't like acting. Due to his temperament, it seems that he was tired of the industry itself, where he had to bow down to bosses, ask about his appearance, and perform poorly even though he wasn't at fault.

In search of a place where he would be treated more like a human being, he and his friends started a business such as running a restaurant. Because of that stance, when Scorsese first called out to him, he didn't listen at all. However, when I somehow managed to calm him down and get him to listen to my story and try acting, I realized that this man was no ordinary man. The way he speaks is also great. The improvisational acting was also brilliant. Joe Pesci himself was touched by Scorsese's enthusiasm and began to feel that ``this was a little different from the guys I've seen before.''
When it came down to it, he had great chemistry with De Niro in front of the camera. De Niro boasts one of the greatest acting abilities of his time, but this time he has been more thoroughly prepared for his role, and as you can see, his body is horrifyingly slimmed down. In other words, Pesci successfully competed against such a ferocious and wild "angry bull." No matter how hard you search in the film industry, he is probably the only person who can do that.
