"I want young kids to learn from my mistakes. I want them to stay in school and The Graduate with the highest degree possible. That's the way to live." - New York Times, June 1, 2019 These are the words of the man at the end of the obituary published in . The day before his obituary was published in the world famous New York Times, Frank Lucas passed away at the age of 88.
The reason why there was an obituary for Frank Lucas, who was neither a politician nor a celebrity, was because of the movie ``American Gangster'' (2007), in which Denzel Washington played Frank Lucas. As the title of the movie suggests, Frank Lucas is an American gangster...a criminal.
The story is about Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington), who, after the death of Bumpy Johnson (Clarence Williams III), who was in charge of Harlem's underworld, fights with his rival to become a cauldron, and fights with other people. This is a crime drama about a man who succeeds in drug trafficking by establishing an innovative system that gangsters did not, and who comes into conflict with drug detective Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe).
