The surprising relationship between “Apocalypse Now” and “Golgo 13”

In the middle of the movie, Willard witnesses a group of American soldiers going crazy over his playmate who came to visit him. Lynda Carter was originally scheduled to play the celebrity who comes to visit in this scene. The former Miss World American representative was cast as Wonder Woman in the TV drama ` `Wonder Woman ' ' (1975-1979), but she declined to appear in the role. As a result, the women visiting were changed to playmates from Playboy magazine, and one of the playmates was actually played by Cynthia Wood, who won Playmate of the Year in 1974.

Although Cynthia did not achieve great success as an actor, she actually has some surprising connections with Japan. " Golgo 13 the Movie" (1983) was released as a full-length animated movie in 1983. This work, directed by Osamu Dezaki, also became a hot topic because Koichi Omura and Satomi Mikuriya were the first in Japan to use full-fledged CGI in their work. Cindy Wood, who sang the theme song `` Play for You, '' was said to be an ``unidentified female singer'' at the time, but she was actually Cynthia Wood. In "Apocalypse Now," Cynthia, who excited the soldiers with her battlefield visit, sang enthusiastically on a Japanese music program. Surprisingly, she sings this song in Japanese.

On the other hand, Lynda Carter, who gained popularity in Japan by playing Wonder Woman, continued to appear in TV movies without having any major work after the show ended. One of them is an unreleased TV movie released on video in Japan called ``Playmate Story/Married Women, Students, and Office Lady Gravure Goddess'' (1992). This TV movie is produced by Cleve Landsberg, who produced Ramen Girl (2008), which co-starred Brittany Murphy and Toshiyuki Nishida, and stars Linda, Amanda Peterson (1987), and others. The story revolves around a housewife and student who plays a role and becomes a nude model for Playboy magazine, shocking everyone around her.

Lynda Carter, who represented America in Miss World, declined to appear in Apocalypse Now Now, and was replaced by former Playmate of the Year Cynthia Wood. Who could have imagined that I would end up playing a playmate inside? If Linda had appeared in the comfort scene, the soldiers might have gone crazy in a different way.
