The story of Batman and the Joker continues to deepen

After finishing "Batman," Burton was pretty exhausted, as it was his first big movie, and at the time he had no desire to make a sequel. However, the success of "Batman" gave him creative freedom and created an environment where he could create the work he wanted more than ever before.

As you know, Burton's fantasy world, which focuses on outcasts with sympathy, blossomed in his sequel, Edward Scissorhands (1990). Furthermore, in the sequel to Batman, Batman Returns (1992), he highlighted the darkness in Bruce Wayne's heart, while giving more sympathy to the two new villains, the Penguin and Catwoman, than he did to the Joker, making it a masterpiece.

Michael Keaton reprised his role in "Batman Returns," then left the series when Burton stepped down as director. He starred in the 2014 Academy Award-winning film " Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), " in which he was praised for his performance as a self-parody of an actor who breaks through by playing a superhero and then struggles to turn to acting.

Prince fell in love with Kim Basinger, who played the heroine Vicki, and used her as the chorus for the single version of the song "Scandalous" featured in the end credits of this film. He also planned to use Basinger as the heroine in his own directorial and starring film " Graffiti Bridge " (1990), but this plan was shelved due to a breakup.

DC Comics has partnered with Warner Bros. to bring Batman and the Joker to the big screen many times since then. As you know, the second installment of the series, " The Dark Knight " (2008), and " Joker " (2019), in which the two characters met again, were highly acclaimed and became record-breaking hits.

These films delved into the complexities of the characters and exposed the darkness of humanity and even society, but we should not overlook the fact that Burton's Batman was at the origin of these films. The new Batman film, The Batman starring Robert Pattinson, is scheduled to be released in 2022.
