the house that freddy built

New Line Cinema, which produced and distributed "A Nightmare A Nightmare on Elm Street," was a small but well-known "edgy" company that had distributed Shinichi Chiba's " Fist of the Dead " (1974) and John Waters' legendary cult film " Pink Flamingos " (1972) in the 1970s.

However, with the success of the "A Nightmare A Nightmare on Elm Street" series, New Line Cinema grew rapidly enough to compete with major studios. This rapid growth led to the nickname "The House that Freddy Built" in the industry.

This success is due to the foresight and high aesthetic sense of Robert Shaye, founder of New Line Cinema and producer of "A Nightmare on Elm Street Street." His ability is clear just by looking at the list of directors of the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series.

A Nightmare A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) was directed by Jack Sholder, who would later go on to direct The Hidden (1987).

A Nightmare A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) was directed by Chuck Russell, who also directed The Mask (1994) starring Jim Carrie, and written by Frank Darabont, director of The Shawshank Redemption (1994).

" A Nightmare A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Hidden Figures Master " (1988) was directed by Renny Harlin, who also directed " Die Hard 2 " (1990), and written by Brian Helgeland, who also directed " 42" (2013).

A A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Hidden Figures (1989) was directed by Stephen Hopkins, who also directed Predator II (1990).

" A Nightmare A Nightmare on Elm Street : The Final Nightmare " (1991) was directed by Rachel Talalay, who had been involved in all of the films in the series from the first one, and would later direct " Tank Girl " (1995), and was written by Michael De Luca, who would go on to produce " Magnolia " (1999) and " The Social Network " (2010).

Until Wes Craven returned as director of the series for the final film, A Nightmare A Nightmare on Elm Street : The Real Nightmare (1994), the series continued to employ a number of famous faces.

Thanks to the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series, New Line Cinema had ample production funds, and in addition to their specialty of horror films, they also produced comedies and social dramas. They also produced works with strong auteur characteristics, such as " Boogie Nights " (1997) and " Seven " (1995), and finally produced the " Lord of the Rings " series (2001-2003).

In other words, without Freddy Krueger, David Fincher, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Peter Jackson might not have become as successful as they are today.
