Peacemaker/Polka Dot Man

One of James Gunn's talents as a group dramatist lies in his ability to arrange characters with a good sense of balance. This was also the case with `` Dawn of the Dead '' (2004), where his abilities as a screenwriter were utilized, and the physical and mental power balance of the characters is skillful.

Peacemaker, played by John Cena, is a "strong man" who is the opposite of Bloodsport. Both of them take on leadership roles in the Suicide Squad and boast excellent combat abilities. However, while Bloodsport has some fragility due to its humanity, Peacemaker's mentality is extremely strong. As his name suggests, he is a ``pacifist'' and has an indiscriminate sense of justice, ruthlessly killing women and children for the sake of peace.

The original Peacemaker, who originally appeared in Charlton Comics' Fightin' Five magazine rather than DC Comics, was actually named Christopher Smith. The setting of doing whatever it takes to achieve justice was taken directly from the comics. The rights were purchased by DC in the 1980s and he became a character in the DC Universe.

In fact, Gunn originally wanted to cast Guardians of the Galaxy series, to play Peacemaker, but Bautista chose Army of the Dead (21). , gave up on appearing in this work. It was then that Cena was chosen, and the contrast between him and Idris in the movie is exquisite. Gunn must have liked Peacemaker so much that he wrote and directed the spin-off drama ``Peacemaker'' (scheduled for release in the US in early 2022).

While there is Peacemaker who is too mentally strong, Suicide Squad also has the "strongest dark character". Polkadot Man/Abner Krill, played by David Dastmalchian in the Ant- Man series, is a little-known character that even comic book fan David had no idea who he was. However, what happens if you accidentally catch the polka dots he shoots with your body...?

Regarding the reason for including Polka Dot Man in this film, director Gunn jokes, ``I searched Google for ``stupidest character in DC history'' and it came up.'' However, this is typical of Gunn's shyness. The physical symptoms of polka dots erupting all over the body and the psychological symptoms of trauma in family relationships are also symbols of human complexes and conflicts that have been depicted in many of Gunn's works. Krill's story, which is completely negative, is full of Gunn-like elements.

David, who plays the role, made his film debut as Sif in Christopher Nolan's `` The Dark Knight '' (2008), which is also a DC original. Thirteen years The Day After, David himself was deeply moved to be cast as a main cast member in the same DC movie.
