Eastwood sings country music

The story is set in the 1930s in America during the Great Depression. Eastwood plays Red, a depressed middle-aged country singer. During his journey, he turns to his older sister and her husband who run a farm in Oklahoma, as he suffers from lung disease due to years of debauchery and is in poor health. There, I met my nephew Whit, who had grown into a middle teenager. He longs for a free life and can drive a car, so he decides to accompany Red on his journey as his caretaker. So they head to Nashville to attend a country music festival that Red is eager to attend...

First of all, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Eastwood plays the role of a singer and also sings on his own. This alone shows that he is far from the image of an action actor at the time. It's a well-known story now, but Eastwood actually had a deep knowledge of music from a long time ago. Since then, he has worked on music-related films such as `` Bird '' (1988), a biographical film about jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker, and ` `Piano Blues '' (2003), a documentary filmed for a TV series. It's obvious. What's more, he had the experience of recording a song for the TV series `` Rawhide '' in the 1960s, when he appeared in it. Eastwood's singing voice in this work has a thin line, but the singing is exquisite and gives a sense of bitterness.

To incorporate country music that suited the story, Eastwood hired music producer Snuff Garrett as music supervisor. Garrett was a talented musician who left his mark on the world of pop music in the early 1960s, working as a producer for Bobby Vee and Johnny Burnett at Liberty Records. In Japan, it became well known after Eiichi Otaki introduced it on his radio program. Recognizing his skill as a snuff artist, Eastwood brought him into the world of film with `` The Dirty Fighter '' (1978), and went on to star in comedic works such as `` Bronco Billy '' (1980) and ` `The Dirty Fighter '' (1980). This is their fourth collaboration together.
