Cronenberg's genes
In the spring of 2022, the area around David Cronenberg, Canada's world-famous genius, is suddenly becoming lively. It has been decided that ``Crimes of the Future,'' his first new work in eight years, will be submitted to the competition section of the Cannes Film Festival to be held in May. Coincidentally, his son Brandon Cronenberg's second feature film, Possessor (2020), was recently released in Japan and became a hot topic of conversation. On the other hand, talented actors such as Julia Ducournau in ` `TITANE '' (21) and Hanna Bergholm in ` `Hatching '' (22) are often discussed as new talents who will inherit Cronenberg's genes.
`` Possessor '' as well as ` `TITANE '' and ` `Hatching' ' are thrillers that make use of physical mutations and internal sensations. This is a common element in many of Cronenberg's films, especially his early horror films. In this article, I would like to highlight ``The Brood: A Metaphor of Anger,'' which leaves a particularly strong impression on me. Cronenberg, who began his career as a film director in Canada in the 1970s, attracted attention with his films `` The Seaverse '' (1975) and `` Rabid '' (1977). Following these, ``The Brood'' was released in 1979.

Meanwhile, an incident occurs in which Nora's mother, who was in custody of Candy, is brutally murdered. It was the work of a ferocious Monster in the form of a child...
