Nawal Marwan, an elderly Canadian woman of Middle Eastern descent, has lived her entire life turning her back on the world, never opening up to her biological children, twin sisters Jeanne and Simone. This somewhat unusual mother passed away, leaving behind a mysterious will and two letters. The two letters were addressed to Jeanne and Simon's brother and father, who they had never even known existed. Guided by her will, the siblings set foot on their mother's homeland for the first time, and discover their mother's strange life and the fate of their family...

Film director Denis Villeneuve has already established himself as a ``master'' in modern Hollywood. Villeneuve was born in Quebec, Canada in 1967 and will be 55 years old in 2022. The biggest turning point in his career was 2010's ``Incendies''. This is a suspenseful work depicting the lives and fate of twin sisters and their mother, and is a masterpiece with precise direction that permeates every detail.

After working on this work, it took Villeneuve 10 years to reach his current position by being selected for major works such as ` `Blade Runner 2049' ' (2017) and ` `Dune '' (21). There wasn't. Many people may be surprised to learn that Villeneuve is older than Christopher Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson, who are both 52 years old and were born in 1970.

Nawal Marwan, mother of twin sisters Jeanne and Simon who live in Canada, has passed away. This happened after he was taken to the hospital one day, unable to move in a stunned state by the pool. Jeanne and Simon show a slight expression of relief at the death of their mother, who seems to have been eccentric to begin with. The most problematic issue was the will Nawal left behind.

Rubel, a notary who had employed Nawal as his secretary for many years, shows him two letters written by Nawal. One letter was addressed to Jeanne and Simon's older brother, and the other was addressed to their father. Nawal asked his siblings to find his missing brother and father and give them the letter. However, Jeanne and Simon didn't even know that they had an older brother, and were told that their father had died in a civil war in the past. The two are deeply shaken, but Jeanne approaches her mother's past in order to learn the secret hidden within her own family...
