Two angels descended on the audition venue

So, specifically, how was the casting done? It must have been extremely difficult to find those children, especially those who had extraordinary powers.

Director Baker never wanted to invite a child who had been cast in Hollywood to Florida. Therefore, he worked hard to hire local children by consulting with local acting agencies, posting recruitment advertisements in local newspapers, and talking to people on the street. However, no matter how many times he auditioned, he was unable to find the best talent.

Baker thinks of a "modern-day Spanky McFarland" as a talented actor. In fact, he says that "The Florida Project" was heavily inspired by the short series "The Little Rascals," which was produced in the 1930s and 1940s. The story is set in America during the Great Depression. While the adults struggle to make ends meet, the children live each day full of energy, making full use of their unique humor and adventurous spirit. The central child in the story is played by a child actor named "Spanky McFarland."

It was already less than two months until filming started. However, I have yet to find a child who says, ``This is it!'' Baker, who even declared, ``I won't make a movie until I find a modern version of McFarland!'', was gradually pushed into a corner. However, one day, two angels descend on him.

It was Brooklyn Kimberly Prince, who would eventually play the role of Moony, and Christopher Rivera, who would play the role of her best friend Scooty. At this audition, the two fatefully team up. Even though it hadn't even started yet, they were both hustling and saying, ``I need to get my spirits up!'' Christopher suddenly fell to the floor and started doing push-ups, and Brooklyn also started doing squats. Director Sean Baker and his staff were blown away by the sight of little kids going through boot camp right in front of their eyes. At this moment, everyone present mentally raised a placard that read "Recruitment." The two had already won the role as clear winners even before the audition began.
