A man of Russia's emerging conglomerate "Oligarch" and his wife. A man who says he made a fortune with organic fertilizer laughs, "I'm the emperor of shit." Nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay

The 95th Academy Awards nominations were announced on January 25, 2023, Japan time. A24's `` Everything Everywhere All at Once '' led the way with 11 nominations in 10 categories, followed by Netflix's ``All Already on the Western Front '' with 9 nominations and `` The Spirit of Inishelin '' with 9 nominations in 8 categories.

My personal opinion is that this time the votes were for author-oriented films and works from various countries. Although `` Everything Everywhere All at Once '' was produced in the United States (produced by the Russo Brothers, who also produced the ``Avengers'' series), the cast has Asian roots, and the 2022 version of ``All is Right on the Western Front '' will be produced in Germany. , `` The Spirit of Inishelin '' is a work produced mainly in Britain and Ireland. The Swedish-French-British-German co-production was nominated for three categories: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. ``Triangle of Sadness'' directed by Ruben Ostlund.

``The Triangle of Sadness'' won the Palme d'Or, the highest award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, and director Ostlund won the Jury Award in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival for `` What Happened in the French Alps '' (14). 67th) and the Palme d'Or (70th) for ` `The Square '' (17) (making him the third person in history to win two Palme d'Ors in a row), so it's no surprise in terms of his track record. .

However, the fact that ``Triangle of Sadness'' is director Ostlund's first English film may be a factor, but as a fan, I feel that he has finally made it to the major Academy Awards category. Considering that his previous film, ` `The Square, '' was nominated in one category for Best Foreign Language Film (currently Best International Feature Film), this can be considered a major breakthrough. By the way, the production of ``Triangle of Sadness'' was announced immediately after ` `The Square '' won the Palme d'Or, and the project had been in the works since 2017 (although filming was also interrupted due to the coronavirus).

In this article, I would like to explore the appeal of ``The Triangle of Sadness,'' focusing on the similarities with Ostlund's `` What Happened in the French Alps'' and ``The Square .''
