An Impudent Girl

Michael Haas thinks about the particles that wandered through the Parisian nights in the 1980s. The opening scene, in which the girl Talulah (Noe Abita) descends into the Paris metro and the surrounding map overlaps, immediately shows that this is an ``urban movie.'' The captivating title background features a girl getting wet on a Parisian night looking back at her. ``The Passengers of the Night'' gives you the feeling that it will be a special movie within a few seconds of the movie starting.

Late night radio "Night Passenger" where Vanda, played by Emmanuelle Béart, serves as a personality. The people of Paris who live in sleepless nights gather around Vanda's voice. This radio program is for people in Paris who suffer from insomnia. In ``Night Passenger,'' secrets that cannot be shared with others are confessed as if confessing to a priest. The medium of radio, which is broadcast to an unspecified number of people, is closely connected to the theme of Michael Ass, who has depicted interactions between people in public spaces such as squares and parks. By adding the new network of sound to the network of public spaces, the poetry emitted by Michael Haas's films acquires a deeper depth than ever before.

At the center of this depth is Elisabeth, played by Charlotte Gainsbourg. Elisabeth is able to play the role of a "mother" in front of her children, but as soon as she is left alone, she becomes fragile and crumbles. Beyond the character Elisabeth, there is a glimpse of the heroine of `` An Impudent Girl '' (1985). Charlotte is a timid and naive girl, but she is sometimes surprisingly bold. Memories imprinted on the actor Charlotte Gainsbourg appear and disappear at random moments. A heroine who once got lost in "An Impudent Girl". She is probably the night particle of the 1980s, Poésy wandering through the streets of Paris.
