Integral changes from a “woman” story to a “man” story = complete version

``Betty Blue '' had a running time of 120 minutes, but ` `Betty Blue: Integral '' was released in 1992 with an additional hour. Integral has several meanings, but in this case it means "complete." This is a director's cut directed by Benex, and although the timing is slightly different, at the time similar director's cuts such as ` `The Big Blue '', ` `Cinema Paradiso '', and `` Blade Runner '' were released. It had become a trend.

However, in the case of ``Betty Blue,'' a major problem occurs. Although it is called a director's cut, there were some ``fixes'' added that did not meet director Benex's intentions. Needless to say, it was the depiction of sex and the blurring of nakedness in the Japanese film screening, and Benex was furious at the revisions to all 10 scenes. He even went out of his way to come to Japan to express his intention to protest. Later, in 2002, the nine scenes other than the part where Betty kisses Zorg's private parts were returned to the uncensored version and made into a soft version as a "complete version." In "Betty Blue," there are many scenes in which Zorg wanders around the room completely naked, so it was inevitable that the film would be subject to revision. There was also a slightly funny depiction of Zorg comparing his own private parts to a sausage, and the corrections in this area made it feel strange.

What's confusing is that the "uncut complete version" of the software is 178 minutes long, while the "renewal complete version" released after that is 185 minutes long. There are no additional scenes, and it seems like 185 minutes is close to the "ideal" length due to the difference in speed.

In addition to the length issue, the impressions of ``Days of Love and Passion'' and `` Integral '' are vastly different. This is because while the former drama revolves around Betty, the latter focuses more on Zorg's perspective. The world where people are gripped by desperate and destructive love is changing into a world where people surrender to their hearts as if they will never experience love like this again. This change in impression within the world of a single work may also be a factor in ``Betty Blue'' captivating a certain number of people.
