That shocking work enters a new chapter for the first time in 3 years

In recent years, the border between Mexico and the United States has attracted worldwide attention. The major trigger for this was probably Donald J. Trump's pledge to build a border wall, but the 2015 suspense-action film Sicario (original title: Sicario) was made by Trump. Focusing on this region more than a year before he won the presidential election, he has created a dynamic and thrilling depiction of the various forces involved in drug smuggling. In that sense, director Denis Villeneuve and screenwriter Taylor Sheridan's ``reading of the times'' is frighteningly sharp.

“Sicario” preview

Three years later, the sequel has finally been unveiled. However, the road to this point has not always been smooth. The previous film was a solid box office hit and received high praise, and it was decided that a sequel would be produced less than a month after its US release. However, Villeneuve, who had been receiving rave reviews for each of his films, had no free time to work on `` The Arrival '' and `` Blade Runner 2049, '' and the important role of directing the sequel was entrusted to another talent.

In June 2016, when word spread that Stefano Sollima, the Italian director of the TV series Gomorrah, would be the director of the sequel, many movie fans probably had mixed feelings. right. While lamenting Villeneuve's absence, many must have wondered, "Who is this Italian?" Even Benicio del Toro, who had already been confirmed to star in the sequel, said that when he learned that Villeneuve would not be directing, he wondered, ``Will it be okay?''
