Teachers and school life that remain in the hearts of those involved in the production

I once met a teacher like Keating. I wanted to meet you. Or, you may have lived a similar school life. It wasn't just the audience who felt that way. Several people who were actually involved in the production were moved by the same thoughts, and a timeless school drama was created.

Robin Williams, who played Keating, is passionate about the character of Keating, expressing his strong desire to have had a teacher like him when he was a high school student at Redwood High School in North San Francisco. It is said that he poured it in. Through acting, he was able to meet his mentor, something that had never happened. Director Peter Weir also recreated the uniforms and classes based on his memories of The Scots College, a boy's boarding school in Sydney that he attended. When the film was later adapted for the stage, The Scots College was chosen as the venue for its premiere, and Weir was invited as a guest on the opening night to give a speech about the making of the film.
