Sadness lies in the shadow of laughter. Burt Bacharach's melody trick for "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"
The second leading actor, cinematographer Conrad Hall
Conrad Hall (winner of the Academy Award for Cinematography), the cinematographer who skillfully captures the sunlight on camera, is the second main actor. Hall deliberately chooses backlighting for daytime scenes, slightly overexposes them, and intentionally creates dust and smoke, successfully creating a dazzling, hazy image. The best example of this is the legendary " Even if it gets wet in the rain " scene.
Let's explain the effects of scene changes and photography in order. Etta, who was still in bed with Sundance, is woken up by Butch's voice as he rides his bike outside her window, and she straddles the front of his bike for a morning bike ride. That's where "even if we get wet in the rain" comes into play. As if waiting for it, the sun begins to shine. As the camera pans from inside the barn as two bicycles carrying two people ride past, sunlight filtering through the leaves shines through the wooden boards like a light beam. This radial light is exquisite.

Etta, a little tired of Butch's acrobatics, ties up her hair with the sun in the background. The fact that Katharine Ross is so miraculously beautiful here is probably due to the fact that Hall and she fell in love during filming and later got married.
