Who is Susie Bunyon?
The Marcos Dance Company, a closed organization, creates a kind of exploitative structure and acts at the expense of other minorities, even if it must continue to exist. In other words, as symbolized by the grotesque appearance of Marcos, who appears later, the company has ugly degenerated into the exploitative authority that they were supposed to have persecuted. In order for the women to regain their original value, the company had to be reborn. Madame Blanc was ultimately unable to bring about this internal revolution. The only person who could do so was Susie Banyon.
The witches' greatest wish was to summon the devil into the world through a sabbath (a devil worship ritual) using dance, and to use the devil's supernatural power to fulfill their inner desires. Marcos tries to take Susie's young body as a "vessel" for his spirit. In the process, he needs Susie to look up to Marcos, who calls herself the witch "Mother Susperiorum," as her only "mother." However, another unexpected incident occurs. Susie declares that she is "Mother Susperiorum" and summons the devil with her magical power. As the absolute ruler of the Marcos Dance Company, she kills the corrupt witches one after another.

But how could Susie have become a true witch? First of all, it is thought that it has to do with the fact that her family, who lived in America, were "Mennonites," a branch of Christianity. This more radical religion, which has its roots in Germany and branched off from it in the 16th century, has a history of being suppressed by mainstream Christianity and facing all kinds of persecution. Although their doctrines are completely different, it can be said that the two groups share a commonality as minorities who were discriminated against as heretics. This is the reason why Susie was so attracted to the dance, which carries the suffering and loneliness of the witch.
But that's not all. Susie followed Marcos's advice and accepted the act of abandoning her biological mother who lived in the United States. However, she did not choose to look up to Marcos as her mother or become her vessel. At that moment, Susie was cut off from all community and blood ties, and accepted her role as an even more outcast among the minority. This is why she is considered to have gained the "qualification" to become a true witch and to revolutionize the group that created a new exploitative structure. Her appearance was surprisingly similar to that of the sacred Virgin Mary.
