ViceSynopsis
In the mid-1960s, Cheney, a young man with a bad drinking habit, was encouraged by his girlfriend Lynn, who would later become his wife, to enter politics. Cheney learned the ins and outs of politics under the unconventional Congressman Donald Rumsfeld, and gradually became fascinated with the magical power. After serving as Chief of Staff to the President and Secretary of Defense, he became Vice President in the George W. Bush administration, and began to act as a "shadow president" with careful preparations. During the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, he took over crisis response from Bush and led the country into the infamous Iraq War. He was able to twist the law and manipulate information to the public at will. In this way, Cheney completely rewrote the history of America and the world, while disappearing from sight like a ghost.

There are people in this world who are called Kaiyuu. Christian Bale, who is known for his thorough portrayal of roles, is probably at the top of the list. When we watch his performance, we forget that Bale is even playing a role, and are simply overwhelmed by the character's way of life and demeanor.
In " The Machinist " (2004), he lost nearly 30 kilos and acted like a ghost, but in " Batman Begins " (2005), he completely changed his appearance and built a muscular physique that made him look like a different person. But it's not just his appearance. He is known for thoroughly preparing for his roles from the inside out as well. By completely immersing himself in the role, he boldly surpasses the limits of acting.
For Christian Bale, "Vice" was a new challenge. Director Adam McKay had Bale in mind for the lead role since he was writing the script. They had worked together on the previous film, " The Big Short " (2015). They knew each other's way of thinking and their strategies very well. That's why McKay was sure that Bale would "go along" with this fearless venture.
The Big Short trailer
The protagonist is former Vice President Dick Cheney, who was also called the "shadow president" under the Bush administration and is said to be the person who pushed America into the unfounded Iraq War. The title "VICE" can mean vice president or even vice.
It's a role that would have scared any actor out there into a corner and run away, but Bale read the script and said, "Are you serious? This is going to be a lot of work," but he took the risk just as McKay had predicted. From that moment on, his acting spirit began to boil with unprecedented intensity.
