Everything about the title, original works, etc.

``The Heaven Can Wait''. Although this title had a strong impact, it gave a slightly different impression when considering the story, and I still remember that there were some mixed reviews when it was released in Japan in 1979.

However, the main character who goes to the other world due to an unexpected accident is returned to earth just before heaven, saying, ``It's too early to die,'' but sooner or later, his body has already been cremated. It is rare to find a work that takes advantage of this, and it is no wonder that it was nominated for 9 Academy Awards, including Best Picture (of which it won only Best Picture), and won Best Picture and Best Actor in the Musical/Comedy category at the Golden Globe Awards.

However, the idea is not original and is based on the 1941 film `` Walking Around the Ghost String ''. The film was also nominated for seven Academy Awards. Going back even further, the original story is a play written in 1938. The title is the same as ``Heaven Can Wait'', which is the original title of ``The Heaven Can Wait'', and ``Here Comes Mr. Jordan'' is also called ``Heaven Can Wait'', although the original title is ``Here Comes Mr. Jordan''. Sometimes.

What's confusing is the 1943 film `` Heaven Can Wait, '' directed by master director Ernst Lubitsch, whose original title was ``Heaven Can Wait.'' This is an unrelated work in which the main character narrates his life to King Enma after he dies (the original story is also a play), but the work was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and is often confused with the two. There is also a 2007 Japanese film called `` Heaven Will Wait '' starring Yoshihiko Inohara, but this too has a different story.

In 1947, a sequel film in which the characters from ``Ghost Strings'' reappeared was ``Down to Earth,'' starring Rita Hayworth. It's a musical movie about a goddess who descends from heaven, angry at how she's treated in the lower world. Around the same time as this production, the original play was finally performed on Broadway at the end of 1946 under the title ``Wonderful Journey,'' but it ended after just nine performances.
