Two comedic geniuses reunite

No matter how many times I watch a movie, I discover new things and find it interesting. ``The Coming to America to New York,'' starring Eddie Murphy, is definitely one of those movies. Even now, more than 30 years after its release, it still has a timeless laugh that makes you laugh out loud when you watch it. That's no wonder, since it was directed by John Landis, a genius in the comedy film world known for films such as `` Animal House '' (1978) and `` The Blues Brothers '' (1980).

John Landis was tasked with directing the music video for legendary superstar Michael Jackson's ``Thriller'' (1983), using special makeup and creating a 13-minute short film-style story. This was so innovative that it changed the concept of a music video and is now legendary.

John Landis cast Eddie Murphy, who was still a newcomer, in a supporting role in `` The Trading Places '' (1983), and with that good performance, Eddie Murphy began to attract attention, and became his first starring role in ``The Great Reversal'' (1983). "Beverly Hills Cop " (1984). Moreover, it became an unprecedented hit and skyrocketed to stardom. The two finally reunited for ``The Coming to America Goes to New York''.
