“The Old Man & The Gun” Synopsis
The time is the early 1980s, America. There was a bank robber who accomplished his goal without hurting anyone, smiling and simply flashing a gun in his pocket. His name is Forrest Tucker: The Man and His Dream and he is 74 years old. The bank tellers and branch managers who were supposed to be victims praise him, saying that he was a ``gentleman'' and ``polite.'' Detective John Hunt, who is in charge of the case, becomes fascinated by Forrest's way of life the more he pursues him. There was also a lover who was smitten with him even though he didn't think he was serious. Meanwhile, Forest, along with his friends Teddy and Waller, plan the biggest mountain ever, and they succeed. However, due to being widely reported as a "twilight gang", he is exposed to an unexpected crisis.

Two legends who colored 2018
When I think about it, 2018 was a strange year. Clint Eastwood made an unexpected return to the silver screen as an elderly The Mule, and at the same time Robert Redford happily played the role of an elderly bank robber.
Although both are completely different types of actors, they have always remained Outsider throughout their long careers and have run through life with their own strong commitments. Because of their acting, each moment in both films has a deep meaning that goes beyond a mere movie. It seemed to me that their way of life was reflected in the journey they continued to take and the mountains they continued to take on.

Moreover, it is common for a legend to be followed by many of his juniors. The main characters they played were also chased by Bradley Cooper in The Mule and The Old Man & The Gun Affleck in The Outlaw. A common feature of these films is that the place where the chaser and the chased meet their fateful meeting is a diner (the real drama always happens in a diner).
Both films have a somewhat similar feel, but the ultimate difference is that ``The Mule'' was directed by Eastwood himself, while ``The Old Man & The Gun'' was directed by a young director who is as old as his father and son. The only point is that it was left to the This is a big difference, considering that even the same portrait can have different nuances between self-portraits and non-self-portraits.
However, the director's surprise and pressure when he learned that this would be Redford's retirement from acting must have been greater than we could have imagined.
