``25 Year Kiss'' Drew Barrymore overturns the stereotype that ``romantic comedies are for beautiful men and women''

Free romantic comedies from the preconceptions of "beautiful men and women"!
How did “25th Year Kiss” revolutionize the romantic comedy genre? The biggest thing is freedom from "lookism." What was groundbreaking about this work is that it pretended to follow the classic romantic comedy pattern of ``an innocent girl falls in love and becomes beautiful'', but it was essentially dominated by ``beautiful men''. It set out to completely destroy the structure of “romantic comedies.”
To counter the objection that many people might have, ``Isn't Drew Barrymore a popular star who was super cute even when she was a child actress?'', one of the complexes that plagued Drew is that she was ``fat.'' Due to an unstable home environment, alcoholism and drug abuse since before he was a teenager, his self-esteem had fallen to the lowest level. Her career slumped and she entered a dark period, but she says that by starring in `` Ever After '' (1998), an adaptation of the story of ``Cinderella,'' she was finally able to recognize herself and redeem herself.

I don't know if it was a result of this, but Drew starred in this film and the romantic comedy The Wedding Singer (1998), which she starred in the previous year, despite being ``chubby'' by Hollywood heroine standards. As proof that the expression "chubby by Hollywood standards" is not a slander but a fact, I would like you to compare the posters for both films with the main story. Both pieces have been blatantly altered for poster use, attempting to make Drew look like a petite, slender woman. I still see many similar cases, but it's like saying, ``You can't sell someone based on their actual appearance.''
Drew cites the above-mentioned ``Ever After'' as her favorite film of hers, and it was during this period that she stopped fighting against the fact that she wasn't the ideal skinny beauty. And it can be said that this was the time when she consciously proved that she could become an attractive heroine without having to lie about who she was.
