There are 50 stunt drivers. 5,000 pylons used

Q: This movie has the longest running time in the series and has many action scenes. Is this intentional?

Stahelski: I wanted this fourth film to be a little longer. Inspired by the story of Sisyphus in Greek mythology, who twice escaped death and was sentenced to eternal penance by pushing a large rock to the top of a mountain. John Wick has avoided death three times, so I want people who watch the movie to feel that sense of trial and futility. That was the aim of this length.

Q: The sequence around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris is particularly impressive and uses long footage. I can't even imagine how such a complicated action could be completed.

Stahelski: That scene at the Arc de Triomphe was the most demanding and time-consuming scene in the film. Fights between humans can be rehearsed in a small room, but using a car requires extensive preparation. We gathered 50 stunt drivers from all over the world, 200 regular drivers, and 2 cameramen. Actors: Keanu and Marco Zarror. What's more, even the dog is featured, so it's really annoying (in Japanese). A small mistake by someone can lead to dangerous consequences, so you must practice carefully. First, we complete the movement of cars and people, and then a large bus comes in. It took four months for the entire action sequence to be built with such build-up.

Q: Was it difficult to lead the stunt drivers since they were gathered from all over the world?

Stahelski: The stunt team this time was multinational, communicating English, Japanese, German, Bulgarian, French, and Chinese over the radio (lol). For example, you can hear things like "ichi, ni, san." Therefore, to make it easy for everyone to understand, we prepared 5,000 pylons coded in red, blue, yellow, etc., and gave instructions such as ``Keanu follow the blue pylon line.'' This is how we check the movements of cars, Keanu, and even dogs. The most important thing was that Keanu didn't get hit by a bus (lol).
