A hot summer afternoon in New York. Tongues intertwined. Terry, who has an eye for virgins, used his usual techniques to seize the girl. After that, I walked around town talking trivial things with my friend Casper, who I've been hanging out with all year round, drinking beer at a friend's house, doing drugs, and talking about sex. That's my daily routine. Meanwhile, at Ruby's house, Jenny and the other five girls are having fun talking about sex. Jenny is annoyed at Terry who took her virginity and went back. Then, he goes to hear the results of the HIV test he took with the experienced Ruby as his escort. The results were that Ruby was negative and Jenny was positive... after just one sex with one man... Jenny wanders around the city trying to find Terry. Unaware that he is an HIV carrier, Terry heads out into the city in search of his next new prey, the Virgin. The new coronavirus is causing great damage all over the world. In the United States, where the damage has been particularly severe, New York state has the highest number of infected people and deaths. The country was also faced with a medical crisis, and at one point was in an unprecedented crisis.

I've heard people say that their blood boiled when they saw footage of the deserted Times Square in the movie `` Vanilla Sky '' (2001). New York is also a special place for fans of movies, theater, music, and other entertainment, and because it is a place where all kinds of human activities, including race, religion, and culture, are brought together, conflicts and empathy are born, and this drama moves many people. and stories.

Ironically, one of the reasons for the spread of the virus in New York is that people from all over the world gather together, both rich and poor, and form densely populated cities. , I can't help but regret it.

While strict restrictions on going out continue, New York-based skater brand Supreme, which now has an influence on all aspects of culture, has distributed one movie for free on its website. ``Kids'' is a movie that was released in 1995 and caused a heated debate. It was directed by Larry Clark, a legendary photographer who is indispensable when talking about American youth culture and subculture.

“Kids” preview

Despite the disadvantages of being the director's first film, having no famous actors, a low budget, and being prohibited from viewing under the age of 17, ``KIDS'' achieved outstanding box office and critical reception. left.

Here's the story. Jenny, a girl who has only had sex once, attends her friend's HIV test and then takes the test herself. Even though her friend tested negative, Jenny tests positive. I know who infected me. Terry keeps targeting girls with no sexual experience as playmates. Jenny wanders New York all night looking for him with a blank expression on her face.

Terry is a skater, and much of the film is spent depicting him in his daily life. A series of intense scenes that would make adults faint if they saw them, such as casual casual conversations with friends in Washington Park, drugged parties, and looking for sex partners. However, there is no excessive production, and they just show their natural selves. There's no condescending adult gaze, no teenage admiring gaze, or MTV-style editing, the camera just follows them. At the same time as the realistic rawness, the way they use music makes their scenes so ephemeral and unrealistic that it somehow feels like a fantasy.

It seems that Larry Clark was already around 50 years old when he was filming this film, so how did he manage to direct young skaters? The key seems to be his creative style, which immerses himself in the communities of his subjects.
