From idol actor to Hollywood star and character actor

At just 19 years old, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in `` What's Eating Gilbert Grape '' (1993), in which he played Ernie, a boy with intellectual disabilities. Since then, he has played the young and beautiful poet Arthur Rimbaud in `` Against the Sun and the Moon '' (1995), the unhealthy boy Romeo in `` Romeo + Juliet '' (1996), and the tragic hero Jacques in `` Titanic '' (1997). Leonardo DiCaprio became a huge star worldwide. With his sweet baby face and prince-like aura, he created enthusiastic fans around the world called ``Leomaniacs,'' and ran through the 1990s as an idol actor.

Since the beginning of the 2000s, he has appeared in major films one after another, working with world-famous masters such as Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, and Edward Zwick. At this rate, I thought he would be on the same path as a orthodox Hollywood star, rivaling Cary Grant, James Stuart, Paul Newman, and Robert Redford! As Leo enters his tenth decade, his style shifts to a style that goes beyond our expectations.

"J. Edgar" preview

In " Django Unchained " (2012), he is an extremely cruel plantation lord, in " The Wolf of Wall Street " (2013), he is the worst money lord, and in " Once Upon a Time in Hollywood " (2019). ) is a selfish actor who only whines. DiCaprio, who has excited female fans all over the world, has started playing extreme characters that are difficult to empathize with, as if to exterminate his former fans. His choice of roles makes me think that he is intentionally abandoning the role of a hero. He rose through the ranks of glory from an idol actor to a Hollywood star, and then suddenly turned into an eccentric character actor, a change that would be unimaginable to common sense.

There is no doubt that the pioneering work was ``J. Edgar'' (11), in which he played the gay and highly suspicious FBI Director Hoover.
