“As Good as It Gets” synopsis
Melvin was successful as a popular As Good as It Gets, but in real life he was a hated bigot who was self-centered, always quarrelsome, and cursed at everyone. He suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder and cannot eat at the same restaurant every day unless his favorite waitress, Carol, takes care of him. One day, a neighbor, a gay artist, is injured during a burglary, and Melvin takes care of his dog Badel. Melvin is reluctant at first, but gradually begins to feel love for Badel. The change in Melvin causes his attitude towards Carol, who he has feelings for, to soften, and the relationship between the two gradually shrinks. Melvin tries to confess his love to Carol, but he ends up hurting her with his signature poisonous words.

Carol, a heroine with a strong sense of life
I have watched many movies from all over the world, admired many actresses, and felt my heart flutter. Just thinking back, Jean Seberg, Shirley MacLaine, Julie Delpy, Meg Ryan, Winona Ryder, Natalie Portman, Bae Doona, etc. And without a doubt, Helen Hunt of ``As Good as It Gets'' (1997) is also a super-ultra wonderful woman who completely stole my heart. There's a scene in the movie where Jack Nicholson says, ``I'm the only one in the world who knows that you're the best woman in the world,'' and anyone who comes into contact with her charm would be shocked. That's probably true.
Carol, played by Helen Hunt in As Good as It Gets, is a divorced waitress who works at a diner in New York. She lives with her mother and her children, and is always worried about her son, who has asthma. Sometimes I have a nice love affair with the gentleman, but I can't help but laugh when he touches me, and I can't concentrate because I'm so worried about the child, and I don't get into a romantic mood at all. In the end, he ends up saying, ``I'm sorry, but you're being too realistic,'' and the other person runs away from him.

Neither the gorgeous look of Jennifer Lopez nor the cool beauty of Nicole Kidman. The sense of life is firmly attached to her. And that's what makes the role of Carol so charming.
For example, there's a scene in which Melvin, played by Jack Nicholson, visits his apartment during a downpour. This scene, in which she is wearing a soaking wet T-shirt that shows through, could have been vulgar if done wrong, but thanks to the overwhelming sense of ordinary people exuded by the actress Helen Hunt, it becomes a romantic comedy.
