Paul Anka's "Twilight City" was one of those mysterious songs that was difficult to find on CD. The original title of this song is " NO WAY OUT ". The title ``NO WAY OUT'' = ``There is no escape'' is also the original title of the movie ``No Way Out'' (1987) starring Kevin Costner. ``Twilight City'' is a song that was used in the movie ``No Way Out''. However, as mentioned above, it was not possible to obtain the LP or CD containing this sound source for a long time. This is because it was not included in the soundtrack of ``No Way Out'', which was released at the time of the movie's release, nor in any of Paul Anka's numerous albums.
``No Way Out'', starring Kevin Costner, was released in the United States about two months after his breakthrough film, `` The Untouchables '' (1987), and the production cost was about 15 million dollars, but it was released in Japan alone at about 3,500 yen. I made a million dollars. ``No Way Out'' started filming in April 1986, and ``The Untouchables'' started filming in August 1986, so ``No Way Out'' was actually filmed first in production order. It turns out that it was. Although his co-stars included Gene Hackman and Sean Young, Kevin was still unknown to only a few movie fans at the time. In that sense, the strategy of releasing it after ``The Untouchables'' was successful.
"No Way Out" preview
The author, who was in Canada at the time, watched two films at the same time, ``The Untouchables'' and ``The No Way Out,'' at a local multiplex. Not only were Kevin's charms often introduced on TV entertainment information programs, but huge advertising materials for ``The Untouchables'' and ``No Way Out'' were lined up in the lobby of the theater, giving it a vaguely ``Kevin-supporting'' atmosphere. I remember that. That scene was the moment when he suddenly became a Hollywood star who could attract customers. Around this time, Kevin's acting fees had increased from $500,000 to $800,000.
I will omit the unfortunate era of Kevin Costner, who was ridiculed as ``the guy lying on the editing room floor'' due to his unfortunate scenes being cut, as it overlaps with the article on ``The Untouchables,'' but his presence was very important to those around him. It is also interesting that the process by which he was gradually recognized through his testimony (his reputation as a great actor) and the process in which the existence of the main character is gradually proven in ``No Way Out'' coincides strangely. Of course, in the case of the protagonist of ``No Way Out'', he is in a position where his existence should not be known.
