Pride as a filmmaker

In recent years, Spielberg has distanced himself somewhat from the aforementioned style, and has been releasing a series of timeless classic-style works. These include " War Horse " (2011), which depicts the human drama of wartime through a horse, and " Lincoln " (2012), which closely follows the history of the struggle of President Lincoln, the father of slavery emancipation. And his first Disney production, the allegorical black comedy " The Big Friendly Giant " (2016), based on a Roald Dahl novel. His filmography seems to be a display of the long history of the form of expression known as "film," as well as his own status as a filmmaker. Above all, in recent years, the medium of film has reached a plateau, and there are speculations that VR (virtual reality) content will take over entertainment. It seems as if Spielberg is resisting the trend of "ride attraction type films" that he has led.

It's hard not to feel that there's something causal about Spielberg's latest film, " Ready Player One ," which was released in April this year, being based on the theme of VR. And by confronting the same theme once again, he shows in the film his attitude of "how should I be?" as a creator. I hope everyone will check this out for themselves after the film is released. And I'm sure everyone will think about it again.

Spielberg is not just a seeker of realism, he is a filmmaker in his own right.
