"Jaws" synopsis

One early summer evening, a young woman disappeared from the shore. The next day, her lifeless body is washed up on the beach, and the peaceful tourist town of Amity is thrown into turmoil. Police Chief Brody determines that this incident was the work of a giant man-eating shark. He proposes closing off the coast, but is met with fierce opposition from the mayor, who fears that he will lose beachgoers, a valuable source of income.
