Adam McKay, Achievement

Film director Adam McKay is angry. ``Don't Look Up,'' a disaster movie starring an all-star cast representing Hollywood, is McKay's first comedy film in a while. The director, who made his feature-length debut with ` `We Are the Newscasters '' (2004), has directed this film in which he expresses his anger through laughter.

The main characters of the story are astronomer Dr. Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) and graduate student DiBiaski (Jennifer Lawrence). After calculating the orbit of a certain comet, the two learn that it is extremely likely that it will crash into the Earth in about six months. With the help of Dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan) from the Planetary Defense Coordination Agency, he alerts President Orléans (Meryl Streep) and his chief of staff son Jason (Jonah Hill) of the crisis, but the White House is not properly organized. We didn't agree.

Considering the situation seriously, Mindy and DiBiaski decide to leak the information to the media. However, although he appears on a popular TV show, he is ignored by the host duo (Cate Blanchett and Tyler Perry), and the newspaper company's reaction is lukewarm. Eventually, the CEO of the giant technology company Bash (Mark Rylance), a super popular singer and DJ couple (Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi), Dibiuski's boyfriend Philip (Himesh Patel), and an aging hero (Ron Perlman) ), the local Yankee (Timothée Chalamet) gets involved, and the commotion grows little by little. However, despite the two's efforts, the situation does not progress slowly...

Centered around the clear concept of ``astronomers trying to prevent a comet from colliding with the Earth,'' this work is a group drama with a cast of gorgeous actors, and is considered to be the work of Koki Mitani in Japanese cinema, or Fuji TV. It even has the feel of an all-star cast movie. However, when you open the lid, you can see the unmistakable “Adam McKay seal”. This is a work that can be said to be a sort of culmination of the career he has built up to this point. First, let's explore the position of "Don't Look Up" based on the director's career.
