What the collaboration with two female filmmakers brought us

It's not just the stage that has changed. In order to combine the three completely independent stories into one story, bold arrangements were made in the adaptation. Emily and Nora, who were never supposed to meet, formed a loose love triangle through Camille, and later developments were added to the encounter between Nora and "Amber Sweet." While continuing the theme of Tomine's original work, new encounters have been added, and the ending, which remains strongly gloomy, has been significantly rewritten.

Thomas Videgan has been involved in many of Odiale's previous directorial films, including `` The Prophet '' (2009) and `` The Sisters Brothers '' (2018). In this film, Bidegan will be replaced by Céline Sciamma, director and screenwriter of Tomboy (2011) and Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019), and director of Ava (2017, not yet released in Japan). Léa Misius, who also wrote the scripts for Arnaud Desplechin's ``The Ghosts of Ismael'' (17) and `` Double Suspects '' (19), is participating.

Sciamma and Misius played a major role in creating a story that focuses on women's sexual desires and includes love between women. Emily and her female friends openly talk about sex and walk around town. An intimate conversation between Nora and "Amber Sweet" that lasts until late at night via a computer screen. These images of women have never been seen before in Audiard's films, which have a strong impression of being ``men's movies.''
