Unique reasons why elderly couples commit murder
The murderers in this work are an elderly couple who are probably well over 80 years old. His wife, Pearl, grieves over her own aging body and silently burns with hatred towards the film crew who celebrate their youthful sexuality. Pearl desires youth so much that she hates youth itself and kills them. This is the most unique aspect of this work that has never been seen before in horror.
``When you're young, you mysteriously think, ``I want to grow up quickly,'' and conversely, when you get older, you think, ``I want to become younger.'' There is such a cynical side within us. (Omitted) I thought it was interesting to see such conflicting ideologies within humans, so I decided to draw this as a theme. 〉

As the director says, the film is designed as a conflict between disconnected generations. The aging Pearl stakes her youth on pornographic movies, making her jealous of young people who enjoy sex. But is she simply jealous of her youth? Probably not. What she was really jealous of was Maxine's willpower to "self-determine."
Maxine dreams of becoming a star by appearing in a pornographic film that is looked upon by the public. The future is uncertain and there is a much higher possibility that dreams will not come true. However, she decided to do so and took action. On the other hand, the murderer Pearl is not clearly depicted, but she is a character who seems to have always had her ``self-determination'' inhibited or avoided. The conflict between a young man trying to break out of his shell and a man who has remained confined to his own world ignites the gore depiction of the climax. What most effectively highlights this unique theme and structure is the strange cast.
Why do the murderer and the protagonist play two roles?
